Starting Life Over After Losing Everything in 2020

You’ve spent all these years studying, sacrificing your time to get more knowledge, develop new skills just so you could open up your business, sign a deal with huge companies in the market, and make it to the top.

You’ve had your rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs and faced several conflicts along the way until you’ve finally said “I’ve reached it!”

Yet, the most terrible and unexpected thing happened that may have resulted in losing everything you had in a blink of an eye.

In all honesty, this isn’t something new to many. Several financially successful people had experience losing it all while others may not have survived such tragic events in their life.

If you were in this position, what would you do if you lose everything?

What To Do If You Lose Everything You’ve Had?

Everyone can give you sympathy, offer words of wisdom, and even voluntary donation and sponsorship. But would these alone help?

Although these things may contribute a little, the only way that you’re going to really need to help you get back on your feet is ‘yourself’. Indeed, you are the one who’s going to help you. But, how?

Complaining and reminiscing depressing moments in our lives is not the best way to do this. Instead, try to face the ‘downfalls’ in your secular life and accept the fact that it did happen.

There’s no way of turning back time the way it was before. ‘Acceptance’ is the first step of recovery.

Just like how the inspirational saying goes, “Everything else has a solution only when it’s death that doesn’t have one”. So open your eyes, get up, recall your aspirations, and rebuild what you’ve worked hard for.

It’s never too late.

However, you might say, ‘Easy for you to say. You’re not the one who loses it all’.

Believe me. I’ve been there, and there are a lot of paths, bridges, storms, and calamities I’ve been through just to reach the top once more.

If I can do it, you can do so too!

How can I get started when I have nothing left?

Everybody, well at least, most of the people started from the bottom. So why not start anew?

Go get a job. Make use of the knowledge and skills you’ve learned throughout your journey. If you think that wouldn’t work as easy as many people would think, then focus on looking for something that requires main labor just so you can pay your bills and get through the day.

Apply for a sideline that would help you earn extra cash that can act as your emergency fund, savings, and even investment. Commission-based jobs would be a huge help as well, only if you know how to communicate well and make a sale.

Little by little, little cash flow could get you a long way. Focus on getting income, doing your best at it, and keeping your expenses in a minimum.

Wake up! Be realistic. Life is unfair, so why shouldn’t it be for you?

There are a lot of things that you can no longer afford. Stay away from the things that can encourage you to spendthrift unnecessary wants in your life.

Even if you really want to experience eating in a fancy restaurant once more or buy the new PS5 you’ve been longing for the longest time, think of what your splurging can do to you in the long-run.

Any extra dollars in your pocket are not reserved for you to spend, but rather, to invest in something more important. And it’s not the stock market or cryptocurrencies.

Invest that money to develop a new skill and gain relevant information that can help you get back on your feet, and reach the top once again.

Buy that entrepreneurial book, attend a class, listen to a few podcasts, hire a coach, learn from someone, or work with someone that can teach you how the world works, how things should be manifested, how business can run smoothly.

Try to connect the dots and follow the path of your success. Remember, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”. Do not repeat the same mistakes you’ve made before. Learn from your past experiences, and be better at what you do best.

Put everything you’ve got because it’s not too late. It’s never too late. Learn to manifest humility, learn more, and when the time is right, go build something. Chase your undying dream.

Giving up is an option. But, would you choose to do so?
