How To Build An Email List For Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is not dead. In fact, with 3.9 billion email users all over the globe and massive projected growth in the upcoming years— email marketing is more alive than ever.

Social media users are lesser than email users, so it’s pretty fair to say that you’re missing something if you don’t use email campaigns for affiliate marketing.

Email marketing can be quite difficult for affiliates to start with, but it can provide you with great benefits in future promotions.

Email Campaigns: Why are they important?

You can attract good traffic to your business with a website but website visitors would generally only stick around for a few minutes. They wouldn’t stick around for a long time. But if you could make use of a website and turn your visitors into email subscribers, a longer duration can be built.

Email marketing and campaigns will enable you to have direct communication with your audience. Once you have someone on your email list, you will be able to get through them for days, weeks, months, and years to make a sale. On the other hand, you would only have a few minutes with a website.

In today’s marketplace, attention is a meager resource. With hundreds of thousands of web across various countries, catching someone’s attention on your website is nothing but a short-term affair. And this is why email marketing is important.

An email list can be used to offer value from your emails over a much longer period of time. If you can offer value in your email messages, they are more likely to understand the product you are offering, and they are more likely to get to know, like, and trust you.

Feed them useful information through email and once you have established rapport, they are more likely to make a buying decision. Moreover, you will be able to stretch out the time period that this can happen with an email list.

But, what are the things that you need in order to build an effective email list?

The first thing that you need in building an email list is an autoresponder. It will be necessary for you to have email managing software that will be responsible for managing the database of your emails. The top autoresponder software you can use includes HubSpot, GetResponse, Moosend, Aweber, Klaviyo, and Mailchimp.

Second, you will be needing a capture page, which you will need to integrate into your email managing software. The capture page is basically a webpage where visitors can leave their name and email.

Of course, you will also be needing traffic to bring into the capture page.

Step-by-Step Guide to Building an Email List 2022

In this tutorial, we will be using GetResponse to build an email list for affiliate marketing. You will need to invest some capital if you want to start building a business.

Now, how do you build an email list that converts? Here’s a step-by-step guide!

Step 1: Create a list

Once you’ve signed up to GetResponse, the next thing you need to do it to create a list of all the subscribers that you want to get. For instance, if you want to get into a gardening niche, then you have to create a list and name it however you want it to be named.

Step 2: Create an autoresponder

From Tools, click Autoresponder. In creating an autoresponder, you would need to fill up Autoresponder Name, the terms you want the email to be sent, and the time you want them to receive it.

It will be necessary for you to create personalized emails that will be sent out to your subscribers. You won’t be sending just one email, so it would be better if you could create a 30-day plan or even a 60-day plan, whereas GetResponse will automatically send out the emails based on the dates you have set.

Rather than creating emails every single day, it would be better if you could accomplish the email marketing plan in one go.

Step 3: Connect the email list to the page/ funnel builder

ClickFunnels supports the third-party autoresponder service GetResponse. So, if you want to collect leads through your ClickFunnel pages, you would need to integrate your ClickFunnels account. Then, ClickFunnels would automatically pass the leads collected to your preferred GetResponse list.

Create a new funnel through ClickFunnels and personalize it according to your liking.

To connect the email list to the page or funnel builder, go to GetResponse and do the following:

Log in to your GetResponse account.

Click on Menu.

Click on Integrations and API.

Click on the API tab.

Click on the Generate API key button.

Enter a name for the API Key.

Click on Generate.

Click on Copy.

After setting these things up in GetResponse, integrate GetResponse with ClickFunnels by:

Log in to your ClickFunnels account.

Hover over the main menu and click on Account Settings.

Click on Integrations.

Click on Add New Integration.

Search and select GetResponse.

Enter any Integration Nickname.

Paste the API Key copied from GetResponse.

Click Add Integration.

Once you’re done integrating GetResponse and Click Funnel, what you have to do is to promote the capture page on as many pages as possible.

When an individual drops their email on the capture page, it’s like an invitation to their house. This is why you need to treat them with care because they are valuable to your business.
