We can’t deny the fact that some people actually made big bucks gambling money. Some regularly enjoy gambling in different forms while there are others who enjoy gambling on a less recurring basis, just simply vising casinos every now and setting the occasional wager on a major horse race or big sporting event.

However, when you look at it from a different lens, you will realize that gambling is actually a complete waste of money and even your precious time. Despite the fact that you could double the money you have overnight, there’s also a probability that you will lose all your money in just one snap.

Popular brand items can make you feel like you’re buying right despite the expensive price because they condition your mind that you’re buying quality when you purchase them. But the truth is…branded items aren’t the only ones that offer quality.

Some unpopular, less expensive brands can also give the same quality that high-end brands can give. For example, the costly painkiller that you always buy has the same exact generic counterpart that is way less expensive. It contains the same ingredients and has the same effect.

5. Unused Gym Membership

Having a gym membership is great but only if you’re maximizing its purpose. However, it takes strong self-motivation to go to the gym since you will need to go out and push yourself to leave the house and work out even during those days that you don’t feel like doing it.

If you have a gym membership but haven’t been using it, you’re wasting your money since you are not getting any value out of it. Cancel your gym membership until you find the motivation to regularly go to the gym— this will save you from monthly obligations. Exercising at home could be a good alternative.

6. Major Impulse Purchases

A great salesman can make you think you need something that you actually don’t. Perhaps, a new refrigerator, dishwasher, or best new television out on the market.

To avoid making major impulse purchases, don’t buy something you don’t intend to buy in the first place. Well, unless you want to mess up your budget.

Impulse buying can be a bit fun at the moment, but before you know it, you’re already in trouble with your finances. It may not matter in small buys like grabbing a Candybar in the checkout line, but no matter how small the purchase is, it could accumulate into something big.
