How to Answer Behavioral Interview Questions

Interview questions can be tricky. They are not as simple as they might seem. The goal is not just to answer those questions.

You have to impress the interviewer on what makes you different. But this question is confusing and does not require such a straight answer.

You have to think, rethink and then speak. Think about that one distinct thing you can do. But, you have to be clever in answering.

You might seem your application is enough. But what makes it special? What makes it different?

The interviewer would be looking at many resumes. Hence, yours should stand out.

But how can you do that? How can you stand yourself in the interview and that too without bragging? Is it necessary to give a generic answer like ‘I’m hardworking’ or ‘I have x years of experience,’ and such?

Describe yourself differently. Think outside the box! This article might help you with that.

Showcase Unique Skillsets in an Interview

What is that one skill that you have and others don’t? What value can you bring to the company that they can’t? Focus on these attributes and communicate some of your unique skillsets to the interviewer.

If you spoke about it to the interviewer, show proof or evidence like certifications or people who can affirm such achievements. This can impress the interview panel, which gives you an increased chance of being selected for your selection.

Working on the laptop

Imagine that you are applying as a Youtube manager for a famous channel. Someone asks you that what are your unique skillset? How can you answer that?

You can say: ‘In my last position, I helped grow a YouTube channel from 100,000 subscribers to a million subscribers in three years. This increase is a direct result of my ability to know what people want and what viewers expect on the channel. Understanding analytics helps s me think and create content that people will be interested in. I am confident that these skills will help your company to grow your YouTube subscriber base as well.’

The example talks about a particular result that you can produce. Communicate to the interviewer what you have on the table.

After doing that, you can go back to and talk about your self-interest. Mostly, the value can you bring to the company.

What Value Can You Bring?

For instance, imagine that you are applying to a digital marketing funnel builder position. Similarly, they ask you the very same question: ‘What value can you bring to our company? What should you say?

Here is a simple reply that you can use. ‘As a psychology degree holder and an experienced digital marketer for online funnels, I can combine my knowledge and understanding to provide the best value for your business. Understanding human psychology and combining it with technology will help you create effective funnels that convert. I believe I can bring a unique perspective when it comes to marketing and funnel building. It which can surely generate good online revenue for your product line.’

This is how simple it works! You share a little bit of your background and then discuss what value you can bring to the company.

But these all depend on how you answer those questions and the way you deliver the message. Practice as much as you can.

Besides these questions I’ve given, there are several other questions the interviewer might ask.

Just stay confident and be prepared. Take your skillset with you and present it before them in a splendid manner. In the end, confidence, exceptional presentation of a skill set, and specific answers will give you an upper hand in the interview.
