Company’s History: The Legacy behind

Who among us doesn’t want to hear stories about success? Who helped them reached their goals? How were they able to get into the top? Knowing these histories, rituals, and traditions of multi-millionaire or multi-billionaire companies are astounding!

The funny thing is, some people would start to believe that there are shortcuts to success. Well, they’re wrong! It doesn’t happen overnight. There are lots of blood, sweat, and tears put into the craft for years and years of hard work. And there are many things to consider, such as finances, location, plan, human resources, the brain of the company, and thereof.

But what about the little details of one’s company? How would you be able to know if a certain history is credible? And how would we get inspired as well?

Sharing our History is Important

Remember back in History class where even the most distinctive description about a significant person, place, or event was recorded and written in our books where the teachers discuss it in class? Indeed, History upholds a legacy, an important backstory that creates momentum and remembrance to people in a different timeline.

Besides upholding the legacy, History plays a significant role in every business. If people knew how most of us came from a humble beginning as a young entrepreneur, we could reach out to them. We can communicate and connect with our audience or consumers on an emotional level.

‘Forbes Magazine’ described it as the “best marketing tool a company could ask for.” When people realized how much effort, time, the money we put into, and the challenges we faced along our journey, this creates a huge and positive impact for them.

This can help people to think, “Oh, they’re just regular living people, like us!”. “They ain’t superman!” But they are superheroes in their family, friends, and personal path.

Both successes and struggles are notable.

Little Detail Matter

A simple note, pen, paper, and other objects could give significant detail and justice in affecting other people’s life. Let’s cite the History of the largest beverage distributor and manufacturer in the world, The Coca-Cola Company.

It started in the year 1886, founded by John S. Pemberton, who created a flavored syrup mixed with carbonated water. His bookkeeper, Frank Robinson, was the one who named the drink and penned it down. What Robinson wrote was patented and serves as the company’s trademark until today.

A few years before his death, he sold portions of his business to other contemporaries such as Asa Griggs Candler, who secured the complete ownership of the company. A few years later, the right was handed down to other entrepreneurs and became what we know as The Coca-Cola water bottled system.

From serving as a tonic into basing the ingredient from cocaine to caffeine-rich extracts up to syrup making plans and producing plenty of other carbonated and juicy drinks in different countries with plenty of challenges faced, The Coca-Cola Company had gone a long way.

Its success shows how complicated things were, how they managed to get through, their significant knowledge that put into work and many more things. But they were able to treasure every little detail and plans they had (and probably compiled it somewhere) in order to serve as a recognition and evidence that shows everything is real and inspiring.

Even a Wacky Entrepreneurial Beginning has its History that managed to inspire audiences as well.

A story started by INC about David Daneshgar, a card shark and a professional poker player who won his startup money through the gambling field.

David signed up at a poker tournament to fund an online marketplace that he and two of his friends were planning. They needed to get at least $30,000. He used his winning prize at the World Poker Series in 2008 to gamble at the poker tournament.

What happened next?

At the final round, David told his friend: “It’s flower time” and won! Did you know that the grand prize is $30,000? Yes! The exact amount they needed to open up their online business. Afterward, they did launch the online flower shop.

So the next time you think how boring a particular company is, always discover their History. It’s interesting until you realize the reality underneath it.

Success doesn’t bloom everywhere. It’s not out of the blue neither. This is why if you’re a new entrepreneur or just starting, make sure to store everything or object that has helped and will help you throughout your journey. Keep and record it.

You’ll never know, maybe a few, several, or a hundred years from now, you can amaze and motivate people in your own way.
