How Elon Musk Take Risks And Achieve Success

In the summer of 1995, young Elon Musk knew that the internet would be a considerable part of humanity. At first, he wanted to be a part of the only internet company back then, Netscape, but just like most people, he did not hear from them.

But he knew that there’s no room to quit. He put his degree on hold and started his own company, knowing that he would fail. But did Elon Musk have a smooth ride in achieving influential success?

Losing Many Battles to Achieve Success

The success of SpaceX, Tesla Inc., and The Boring Company was not trouble-free. He knew that right from the start when he said, “Anything which is significantly innovative is going to come with a significant risk of failure.”

No one likes risk to risk per se nor to start that from happening, but it’s an inevitable part of innovation when you want to make a change. The best thing you can do is to prevent risk from happening or improve the probability of success If given a chance.

This is what Elon Musk did when he started SpaceX and other of his momentous innovations in life. It takes years of experimentation, of testing, of doing anything he and his team can do to make something work and improve the life of his fellowmen.

Like What You Do to be Successful

Musk stressed the importance of ‘doing what you like, what you love to do’ since this is where your mind and your heart is drawn to. Even if you’re not working, your mind tends to think about the things you’re genuinely passionate about, which will help you become more motivated and do the best you can to succeed.

Life is too short. “Even if you’re the best of the best, there’s always a chance of failure,” Musk added. So better love what you do and continue or hate what you do and quit.

But it’s amazing how people tend to overlook the importance of critical thinking when planning and to work with something. He thinks “wishful thinking is innate in the human brain,” that’s why we tend to filter some relevant information of our success, which may lead to another series of disasters.

But suppose you want to succeed in what you’re doing. In that case, it’s important to apply more than what is necessarily apparent, including first-principle analysis that focuses on facts or indisputably correct and reasoning up a conclusion from there, instead of analogies that were referencing the past.

Our decisions in life will make a huge impact on the outcome that can happen. If you like to start something exciting, you must accept the fact that the journey has a possibility to either fail or succeed. We may even experience many battles in life like what Musk had experienced. But look at him now today –  a successful CEO, industrial designer and engineer, product architect, and the richest man on earth!

In the end, it’s going to be worthwhile.
