How To Successfully Overcome Zero-Click Searches

A recent SEO statistics show that an estimated 49% of Google searches resulted in “No Clicks”. This phenomenon is also called a “Zero-Click” where users trust Google’s snippet, a small piece of information below the title of each article taken from a webpage directly into the Search Engine Result Page (SERP), the most. Users are already satisfied with what they could see without having to click through the link and directing them to other sites.

Every website aims is to deliver the most quality assistance and service to online uses. However, with this phenomenon, it’s unlikely to deliver web traffic to a web site being optimized when the traffic is usually the main objective of the SEO.

Zero Click VS Organic Clicks

Even though there is another option which is the Paid Clicks or the Paid Advertisement, the issue arising is between the zero and organic clicks only. A data gathered from 1 billion searches on millions of US Mobile & desktop devices shows that aside from the 49% zero-clicks, around 41.45% of the traffic is based on the organic clicks or clicks on non-Google website, a third party site and another 5.9% from Google-owned website such as Gmail, YouTube and such all according to Jumpshot and Sparktoro, two of the most reliable digital marketing website.

Organic Clicks (or also known as natural search) is the results appear whenever you try to type something into Google or any other search engine determined by the article or link’s relevancy such as how closely the content of the result matches with the users’ search query. Since this would take time in getting the information, it decreases its value over time creating more chances for Zero-clicks that doesn’t benefit SEO professionals and content writers.

Three Ways to Generate Clicks

Since we know how Google use snippets in giving content from a post and a big factor in contributing highly to zero-clicks, one way to consider is optimizing this feature. By this, you’d have to be more reserve with the information you want to preview the users with. This is where the users would try to ask ‘why should they continue to click further when they already have the exact information that they need?’

Keep in mind that the snippet would usually depend on the first paragraph or top content of your page, avoid putting all the answers and key information within this place of order and try to play with the words although not too much that it would take away the essence of your article.

A featured snippet has total or 55 words and below this is why you have to make sure that it contains short and accurate answers. Give out one or two keywords that look promising.
Another highly recommended factor is a Good Title which should’ve been or the usual top most optimized reason in creating traffic for your website. This is relevant since it is the part where you sell your content to the readers, for them to decide whether they’d click the link or rather not.

There’s no need for you to panic or get overwhelmed in creating one. Just simply avoid being generic and if possible, get straight to the point especially if the question or search made by the user is answerable by yes or no. There’s no need for you to hide the lead; in fact, you may answer the question ahead in the Title and add more intriguing content to follow. For example: Is there a proper way to solve zero-clicks searches? Rather than saying “There is a proper way to solve zero-clicks searches”, you could just tell “Zero-clicks can be solved and here’s how to do it”. Remember to be very careful in crafting your title and to be aware of the trend.

You could always consider the “Buffet Title Principle” where the article is purely based on the title, solid keywords and something that could draw people’s attention. Leaving something to think about in each article’s title, could be another way to consider.

Lastly, it is somehow obvious when people are not clicking on your website at all. The topics might be a little dull or uninteresting that could lead to a zero-click. Don’t write unexciting articles for the sake of updating your website. Make sure to create knowledgeable and entertaining ones that could direct into ‘one-click’ rather.

Sometimes, content writers skip topics that are fine to write about just because they ‘re just overacting or being mentally manipulated with the pressure that comes within writing and posting. When this happens, just remember to avoid getting hammered by other big and recognized websites such as Google for example. Instead of putting up websites about the weather forecast or dictionaries and thereof especially if you’re just starting, try to be more creative and inspiring within your capacity as a manager or professional SEO.

Whether we’re talking about paid, organic, or zero clicks, remember that things change and what’s trendy today may not be in a couple of months or years. Always focus on the things that the readers would consider in searching or clicking an article such as the snippet, the title, and its content. Try to calm down and find ways to solve the current or an imposing problem as every situation encounters a solution. You’d never know, you’re article might get a high percentage of ‘one- click’.
